ARTIST STATEMENT
Organic forms in nature have always had an instinctive draw for my work. When light hits water, it transforms it into a completely new form. Through an experimental process of play and iteration, hand-dyed textiles are strewn together to emanate the transparency and movement found in nature. Each unit varies in opacity, allowing light to enter the space at different moments. Though the piece is organized through a grid, the work will ultimately take on its own life depending on the conditions of the sun that allow light to enter into the space. Through this piece, I aimed to use light to explore natural forms found in nature using a curtain which is a threshold that absorbs and projects light.
